# iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, GMX and other mail servers

Connect any mailbox that offers IMAP and SMTP under Accounts → Connect an account → iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, GMX or your own mail server. Prubex signs in with an app password made for it, never your usual password, and only over TLS or STARTTLS.

## Presets and other servers
iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, GMX and Fastmail have their servers filled in (Fastmail’s own page connects with an API token; its IMAP preset is for an app password instead). For another provider, enter its IMAP and SMTP servers, or a CalDAV address to connect its calendars too.

## How IMAP maps
Folders are folders and IMAP keywords are labels (single words). Moving mail needs a server with MOVE; Trash is a move, never a permanent delete. Conversations are rebuilt from the References and In-Reply-To headers. A sent message is copied to Sent unless it is there already.

## Calendars
Where the provider offers CalDAV (iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail and many hosts), calendars connect with the same app password. Answering an invitation works where the server sends the reply itself, and without a comment.

## Disconnecting
Disconnecting deletes Prubex’s copy of the app password. Delete the app password at your provider too.
